Collaboration Announced between
Wild Horse Theater and Brewery Arts Center
The benefits to both organizations may also offer the opportunity for; expanded audiences, joint marketing and membership opportunities, collaboration on grants and funding, and greater educational opportunities for families and children in our community. ”We really see this as a new model for cooperation between two organizations working together for the greater good of our community. We are proud to have the support of the BAC and the community in this transition period from our previous venue”, says Carol Scott, Executive Director of Wild Horse Children’s Theater.
“We are excited for this next phase of our growth and development in our programming at the Brewery Arts Center,” says Tami Castillo Shelton, BAC Director of Programs. “Welcoming Wild Horse and their staff to our facilities is a great ‘kick off’ to a new and exciting year of rich collaborations for us, and especially what we may offer cooperatively to our community.”
Wild Horse Productions has been one of the premiere theater companies in our community for the past 6 years. They are an educational non-profit organization formed to create extraordinary theatre experiences that educate, challenge and inspire young people in our community. They believe in the power of theater and arts education to enrich and transform the lives of young people.
The Brewery Arts Center is the only full-service cultural arts council in the region. As such it provides arts programs, including performances, exhibit opportunities, art retail services, and community access television productions. They support artists, arts organizations and community audiences, providing services across a four county region including Carson, Story, Douglas and Lyon. The BAC campus is housed on two city blocks and hosts two performance spaces, a community ballroom, three arts classrooms, a gallery, Artisans Store, cafe and media center. The BAC was established in 1975.

A fabulous time was had by all at
Disney’s “The Little Mermaid, Jr.”
In a magical kingdom fathoms below, the beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first, she’ll have to defy her father King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea witch Ursula, and convince Prince Eric that she’s the girl with the enchanting voice.
Adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway production, Disney’s “THE LITTLE MERMAID JR.” features the hit songs “Part of Your World,” “She’s in Love,” and the Oscar-winning “Under the Sea.” This is a large ensemble cast with many featured parts and a strong chorus.
Carol Scott, Executive Director says, “This will be the premiere of THE LITTLE MERMAID, JR in Northern Nevada and also the premiere performance as resident theater company at the BAC. I couldn’t think of a better way to showcase the amazing young talent in our community and our collaboration with the BAC!”
